*Well, thankfully, as you stand in the lobby that you entered into from the entrance, Juudai just happens to walk around the corner, wearing a jacket and carrying a bag. It looks like he's actually on his way home for the day.
But when he sees Hitoshi, he stops looking a little puzzled, but he then smiles.*

Oh. I didn't realize we had a visitor!

*he seems a little surprised, but quickly realizes he should probably talk.*

Y-yeah, uhm, I wanted to... to talk about things, since I had heard that this place has experience with supernatural beings and, um...

... w-were you going home? Did I come too late?

Ah, I was, but it's fine! We can talk.
If you follow me, we'll go to my office!

*Smiling, he makes a 'follow me' gesture with his hand, before walking back the way he came.*

If... you're sure.

*he. follows after Juudai. He's really hoping he's not being a bother with this, but... he's sure it's probably okay. Maybe.*

*Juudai leads him to a door which he unlocks and opens. He enters and waits for Hitoshi to do the same before closing the door.*

*Juudai walks over to the desk in question as he says that, placing his bag down on the floor and sitting down on a chair.*

*... he sits down in a chair by the desk, obviously looking uncomfortable. He's very covered, not a speck of color to him. It's like someone forgot to do that step when bringing him into existence.

He takes a deep breath though, trying to collect his thoughts.*

Um... I'm... Understandably not really used to this, but I thought it'd probably be best to inform someone, in case trouble pops up... But I don't really know where to start, now that I'm here.

*Juudai notices how pale the boy is, as well as how anxious he seems.*

Well, why not just start casually. Just tell me a little about yourself first. Name? Age? Where you're from? Whatever you're comfortable telling me.

Um... Alright. *deep breath*

My name is "Yaku, Hitoshi". I'm fifteen years old, a first year Ra Yellow student at the Duel Academy, and I'm from the northern-most parts of the Hokkaido region. I live with my grandmother, my mother, and my father.

*that's basic stuff, yes. good start. he pauses a moment, before continuing*

And I guess I should start by saying that... I'm unnatural, I guess?

Unnatural, hm? I noticed that you have an unusually pale complexion. Is that something to do with it?

*He takes out a pen and paper, so he can write notes.*

*he nods a little*

My skin color is related to it though, yeah... I guess I should specify though, that I'm pretty unnatural, even for what I am.

Oh right. I guess before we continue, I should introduce myself. I'm Yuuki, Juudai, I'm the one who runs SAI.

Hm? So how are you unnatural?

Oh, uh. Nice to meet you, Mr. Yuuki. ... As in, Yuuki Juudai, from the tournaments and all? *wait, distractions. focus on this and why you're here.*

I mean. ... Well, uh. I guess there's no real way to go about this, or say it really gently or in a way that doesn't sound so bad, but I'm sorta... a vampire.

*Juudai pauses for a moment, but smiles again. He doesn't seem shocked about it.*

A vampire, huh?
I actually didn't realize vampires were still in existence.

... We're kinda... or at least, grandmother, isn't native to Earth. It's why you'd probably not think they're in existence anymore. She always talks about how she had heard there was a clan of vampires that were native to Earth, but they got wiped out, before she got here...

... You're not weirded out, are you? Vampires tend to be considered kinda... dangerous.

*He shakes his head.*

Not weirded out at all. I know vampires have a bad stigma, but that's all just down to stories and hearsay.

... I guess I'm... kinda surprised, to be honest. Vampires, or at least the different clans, from what I know, all have different traits, or weaknesses, or strengths. Some are more powerful than others, some feed off of mental energy, and some need blood to survive. Some are undead, but others are just a species. So it's not like stories are entirely false, either, it just... depends on which ones you're talking about.

*he adjusts his scarf a bit. He keeps stumbling over his words a little each time, but... in a way, Juudai's assurance that it's not weird is helping.*

My grandmother's clan is the... type that requires blood to really live, but it's why I'm kinda weird, even for them. I haven't needed it, so far, but... it's pretty obvious I'm a lot weaker than my grandmother, or my dad. The idea of even a vampire reproducing was probably kinda weird, as it is...

Hmm, I see.
I guess without it, your body is a bit weaker than usual, but right now it's not something you need to actually live.

I don't know a huge lot about vampires. There may come a time where your body might need blood, I don't know. But if you ever get a craving or a want to drink blood, come straight here and we'll see what we can do.

Is it any blood that your clan can drink? Be it Human? Animal?
If it's not too personal to ask, how does your grandmother and father deal with that?
It'd just give me a better idea on what I can do for you, if you ever need it.

They do drink human blood, and it seems like it's a requirement, since blood from animals doesn't make me react or anything, but... it tends to be donations. Grandmother, she... learned really quickly that people don't react well to attacks, even if she avoids killing anyone. She managed to set up a system back home to get blood delivered under pretense of medical transfusions.

The problem is that they... Don't actually know how I might react, to human blood. With my dad, I guess it was obvious really fast that he needed it, but I didn't show the same signs as him. So they're kinda worried about it. They don't know what'd result of it. Letting me come here, away from home, was a risk itself, given it, but... I wasn't really happy back home.

... You're taking the idea that I might need to one day have blood really well, though. *he really can't help but be surprised. even he finds it unusual that it's even a thing.*

Have you... had experience with beings, who have special needs like that?

Hmm, in this kind of scenario, no, I haven't really had experience in dealing with this kind of need from someone before. But being surprised or shocked or worked up about that situation won't help you, which is what I want to do.

And I'd rather try and find a way to help you, if you ever need it. You seem like a nice guy overall and I'm sure you'd want to avoid accidentally hurting others if you reacted badly to blood or got the sudden urge for it.

*He frowns a little though.*

But human blood is difficult to come by and it's not so easy setting up something like your grandmother did.

That's... What I figured. I didn't expect anyone would be able to easily set up anything. I didn't come here, with that expectation. *he shakes his head a little*

I came here because... I want to be able to take precautions, in case something does go wrong. Finding support when it comes to this isn't... really easy at all. A lot of times, it's hard for me to tell where genuine care or interest comes from, when it comes to me.

I want to at least make sure that, if something does go wrong, there's someone nearby who is informed about the situation, who'll be able to help. ... It's not like I can expect my grandmother or my dad to move down to a location they wouldn't really be able to live in, after all. I can handle sunlight okay enough, but they have a higher sensitivity, to it.

*Juudai nods*

Yes. Desdemona-san, although a little hot-headed at times, is also very nurturing which makes her a good person to talk to, if you have a problem, no matter the issue.
Everyone who works under SAI understands that they need to keep an open mind about things.

I can understand how difficult it is to have to keep it from your friends. It's a difficult thing for others to understand. Not everyone will react negatively though. True friends will stand by you, no matter what.

I know... I just... Want to make sure I'm making the right choice when it comes to talking at all. I was told I should make my own decisions about myself, if I feel it's really that necessary to say anything... I just don't want it to be a bother, or unnecessary to say at the time. Not really something that's simple to bring up casually.

I sorta have a... I guess you'd call it a familiar. Made from using my shadow. It's a common power my grandmother's group had, I guess, though they could do much more with it. Most I can do is make it into a simple mass, or sharpen it, or grip with it. It can sorta act on it's own, too.

Huh, I see. That's really interesting. *He notes that down.* That's handy to know since it's related to your heritage as well.

Yeah... and I figured, it'd be weird if it changed, let alone popped up out of nowhere, if anything goes badly. Though so far, no one's noticed it, so I guess it'll likely be fine...

... I guess I should mention that I have a bit of a light sensitivity and photo-sensitivity problem, since that's generally the kind of things worth noting. I can handle being outside okay with protection, at least. But my eyes are bad for any bright flashes. I've got... much better healing than an average person, so I can recover from it, but it isn't fun to experience.

Otherwise... *he gives a sheepish look* I'd like to note that this is probably the most I've ever talked about myself, in a long time. I'm not used to people really being willing to listen.

Sadly with things like this, there is a lot of worry about the unknown that comes with it. All I can say is just to be aware of any changes, but to try not to worry too much about it. If changes happen, we'll look at and deal with them as they come.

There might be the chance that you may just stay as you are too. I assume that your other blood relatives, such as your mother, are regular humans? If so, it could mean that it's just made the vampire tendencies less pronounced than that of your grandmother and father.

My mother, and my grandfather, are both humans. And... we suspect there's diluting, but assuming that what I have now is the height of things, would be foolish. At least grandmother thinks so.

Stuff like this... is all really new. A lot of vampiric clans in the 12 Dimensions are all undead, so they don't reproduce like humans would. Grandmother's clan, and very few others, aren't undead, so stuff like this... isn't very common.

Yeah, you're right to be wary at least and to not just assume that things will stay the way they are.

It is all very new. I don't know a lot about vampiric clans myself, but no matter what, I promise any issue that comes up, we'll help you with it the best we can.

... I guess in a way, this is as much a learning experience for you, too. Which... I guess makes up for it kinda, on my part.

It really is. It's good to get the experience. Despite how many people I've met over the years with different abilities, there are so many I've never come across before too.

Yes, there are. There's a lot of people with all kinds of different abilities and powers, and even unusual heritages, like yourself. So you are definitely not alone. A lot of others share similar worries to your own, in regards to their own abilities.

It is kinda comforting, at least. Knowing I'm not alone.

Back at home, pretty much the only people I could really talk to, were my family. Otherwise, especially in the last year or two before I started going to the Duel Academy, girls my age would tend to get weirdly interested in me, and then guys my age would get mad at me over it.

It's made things kinda... hard, to really find comfort in others.

Hmm, I can see why you've been wary of speaking to others outside of your family, but at least here you will have others you can speak to and maybe even peers you can relate too.

Yeah, I know. Thank you. I'd probably want to come here more often, but I think my sleeping schedule for... most of the week, doesn't really fit with the time. Since you were just leaving, I assume the place was closing for the night, too.

Hmm, yeah, time might be an issue. I do usually head home around this time.
