That group that was targeting Yuya and me? They kidnapped Kotori. I went to save her and got dragged into something called a "dark game". Apparently it makes the whole duel real.
I mean, REALLY real!

Being repeatedly slammed into the floor by a raging demon isn't exactly something I want to repeat in a hurry.

They... that's cruel of them. Who would even do that? To go and drag your friend into that stuff, too... And that dark game business sounds really dangerous. You're lucky you're alive to even explain this, it sounds like. ... you'll be lucky to be moving, it sounds like.

Is um... Kotori alright, too?

Ah. I got myself checked out at the infirmary here on the island when I got back that day. They said with the severe bruising I had, I SHOULD of had broken bones or other internal injuries and were surprised that I didn't.
I think I kinda owe that to something else, though.

I can move around, but I'm sore as hell.

Kotori is fine, thankfully. She was a little roughed up, but nothing worse than that.

That's good to hear, at least. ... I imagine this might've soured her visit, a bit...

...remember that dream I mentioned ages ago. With the door that was offering power to whoever opened it? Kinda took it up on the offer.

And... yeah. More than a bit. And there's probably nothing I can really do to make it up to her either. She said I didn't have to make anything up to her, but I at least want to make sure her remaining time here is better.
I told her to choose a place to go this week and if it took duelist points, I'd pay for everything for that day.

... I guess that stuff definitely wasn't a dream then, huh.

I really hope you'll be able to make her time left here better, at least, but... I can't stand the fact that they actually kidnapped her over this... and for what reason, anyway? Did they give one?

Yeah, I found a bit more out about that.
Apparently whoever hired the guy I dueled believes that Yuya and I are part of some weird prophecy about two kings with "medallions" who are gonna bring about the end of the world, or something, by obtaining a "great power" through dueling.

And I guess I've already covered the "great power" part.

... Wait, are they trying to stop it or something? Cause if they are... I imagine whoever hired the person must be pretty unhappy, right now.

Yeah, I think they were trying to get me to leave Duel Academy before it happened. Instead, they just ended up pushing me into accepting it.
